ABUNDANCES OF SELECTED ELEMENTS IN BROWN COAL FROM OŚCISŁOWO
DEPOSIT IN KONIN AREA

ABSTRACT
Novel instrumental techniques, sych as ICP-MS, ICP-AES, ASA and Mercury SP-3D were used
for determination of abundances of selected elements in brown coal from Ościsłowo deposit.
Concentrations of Ca, Cr, Co, Zn, As, Se, Cd, Fe, Hg i S were analyzed in this research. The
abundances were compared to Upper Earth-crust Clarke vaules. The variability of abundance of those
elements was also determined in form of parameters of descriptive statistics. The analysis of
correlations between abundances of particular elements led to the assesment that ferrum and arsenium
sulphides may occure in coals of Ościsłowo deposit.
