ABSTRACT
In this paper initial technical assumption data and calculations of pumped storage plant localization in “Bełchatów” lignite open-cast mine were presented. Possibilities of localization of water basins on outside dump and in the bottom of Bełchatów open-cast as well as on outside dump and in the bottom of Szczerców open-cast were considered. Technical possibilities of obtaining about 500 MW of energy during five hours of maximum power consumption once a day in both of these localization were ascertained. Extending of analysis of this conception is necessary.
